Move-In Procedures

  1. RENT: All signed contracts must be accompanied by a $200 deposit and your first month’s payment in order to be valid. Your contracted move in date is on a date other than the first day of the month, your first payment will be prorated based on a 30-day cycle.
  2. Bring your rental payment receipt to the Bannockburn Village & Plaza Resident Services Office.
  3. KEYS: You will be issued appropriate keys to allow entry into your apartment and bedroom. You will not be issued a Mail Key until your move-in inspection sheet is turned in.
  4. PARKING AUTHORIZATION: If you have a vehicle, and have been issued a parking permit, your Housing Account will be charged the appropriate fee. This permit will also allow you to park on campus after 4:00 pm on weekday evenings, weekends, and University-recognized holidays. Parking is limited. Do not bring your vehicle to campus until you have a parking permit.
  5. MOVE-IN INSPECTION: You will be asked to complete a Move-In walkthrough. Notations of any maintenance or custodial discrepancies in your apartment will also be documented during this walkthrough. All completed service requests to correct any discrepancies will be noted on your Move-In Inspection Form in order to ensure that you are not charged for pre-existing conditions upon moveout.  Please make every effort to be thorough during this review of your apartment. Your signature on the Move-In Inspection Form will indicate your agreement as to the conditions documented on the form. Failure to complete a Move-In Inspection will imply your consent that your apartment/bedroom is acceptable “as is.” Consequently, you may be charged for any maintenance or custodial discrepancies noted upon move-out that were not previously documented by a qualified staff person.

Upon completion of your Move-In Inspection Form, you will be issued your Mail Key.
